Leavenworth Summer Theater Auditions

Jan Johnston, of Leavenworth, directs The Sound of Music.
 Jeanine Salter of Leavenworth, a long time LST actress and director, will direct Kiss Me, Kate at the downtown FestHalle.
 Kevin McKee directs Sugar at Hatchery Park.

Adult auditions are by appointment only.  All roles are open with the exception of the Mother Abbess who returns from 2007.  Each auditioner will have up to 10 minutes to sing a song from one of this summer’s shows, in the original key, music provided in advance by LST, and to present cold readings, provided at the audition.

Auditions for the von Trapp family children, except Liesl, for The Sound of Music will be held Saturday, March 15th at Icicle River Middle School in Leavenworth.  Girls age 5 to 18, and boys from 8 to 14 years old with unchanged voices are encouraged to audition.  Jan Johnston of Leavenworth will direct the show. Girls interested in the role of Liesl should call the theater for a separate appointment.

Interested children and a parent should arrive at 8:30 a.m. to complete the paperwork before the 9:00 a.m. audition starting time.  Be prepared to list all conflicts with our rehearsals and performances.  Late arrivals will not be admitted.  Auditions may last until 12:30.  There may be callbacks for some roles until 1:30 p.m.  No appointment is necessary.  Bring a non-returnable small school picture for each show you are interested in or a good photocopy, wallet size preferred. These roles are double cast.   If cast, rehearsals start in June.
